fished from 7:30am till 10:00am below harper's ferry. caught 6 nice crappie before wind got up real bad. drifting jigs tipped w/ minnows 6' deep in 15' depth. water temp @ ramp 51.3, 54.9 in back of creek.

Welcome to Crappie.com burdawg. Good catch. What part of Russell is Harper's Ferry? Before the house projects took over my life, I fished up around Felkel. Mornings to afternoon are the times I got to go. Usually used the same type setup.

thanks for the welcome, harpers ferry would be west from felkel. not very far if you were a crow, but with boat & trailer a fair ways. harpers ferry is on the savannah river side. i have fished felkel a fair amount but with the weather conditions the rocky river side is usually muddier than the savannah river side. the water was clear at harpers ferry ramp but did get dingier the farther up the creeks that i went. not always a bad thing as dingier water is usually warmer as well.

Ive not been on the Savannah side. Did some fishin around Allen creek landing but no where near the outlet to the main river. 35 minute drive to get that far.

harpers ferry is only 3 or 4 miles by car from felkel
