    Default working on the beast....

today is the 3rd day ive been working on redoing the beast. day before yesterday i spent taking out the old floor, front deck, sides and rod boxes. i allowed myself a couple hours to do that. took all day plus an hour yesterday. when we put that stuff in we done a better job than i thought. yesterday i cut my first piece of 1/8 in aluminum. ive always heard you could cut it with a skil saw if your blade has carbide teeth. ive cut ive cut angle and small stuff with it but never nothing on this scale. after ripping about three ft, i seen this wasnt gonna work.. it was like the blade was melting through it instead of making a clean cut. so i went to lowes and bought a metal cuting blade. the cost of such a blade would choke a mule but after i got done gaggin and choking, the project went fine. the rest of the day i had no problems cutting it and things went well. im hoping today i will make some real progress and hopefully get my boat water ready by tomorrow night, when im scheduled to take a couple fellers out on a nightstalk. somebody thats got some pull with the man upstairs put in a good word for me cause this is not easy as i thought it was gonna be.

I guess you didn't want my help. As offered, I had all the tools and knowledge to make the job easy. All I wanted in return was a few fishing tips.

I offered to help too.And I'm sure about everyone in the area that reads here has probably offered their help as well.Dont get bent out of shape. One thing Rango has never been short with is fishing tips.I cant remember a single fishing question posed to him that he didn't answer willingly or atleast tell you that he didn't know.Rango would have had to kill a cow to feed all the help that offered to come over and lend a hand , it dont mean he meant anything towards you.

Thanks Big E, I'm just used to people taking up my offers to help, so much so, that sometime I can't find time to fish .

No need for thanks.I just didn't want you to have a negative feeling about Rango when I knew he didn't mean nothing by it.Thats one of the good things about this forum , whenever you need help , it comes running quick.

No negative feelings at all. I have a lot of experience with aluminum and know it can be a pain and I wanted to make sure he got back on the water as soon as possible to give all us NC anglers more grief.

Actually, I've learned a ton about night stalking (preferred method) from rango and the rest of you guys, that I'm doing OK. I'll be entering the rodeos soon. Knowing that he's a striper fisherman as well, I wanted to pic his brain about striper fishing this time of year. I'm camping at Lake Murray next week and trying striper's for the first time. I'm going to night stalk crappie also.

i seriously considered asking you help me icebox, because you had the tools to work with but if i had to work on it here i'd have to do it as i got the chance. i couldnt jump on it and stay with it till it was done . it dint suit you for me to bring it to you and it dint suit me to have someone come here with the things i have going on . i have to work on it as i get the chance if doing it here because of a sick family member i have to see to. i had offers from folks to help but i dint expect anyone to come and do it it cause i dint know if id get a chance to do any work if anyone did come. thanks for the offer but it wasnt suitable for me to do it your way. if you think i can offer any useful info about fishing feel free to ask..
