Rango came up with the name thug a few years back when the catfish would come through his set up and tie all the lines together in a big neat bow.Seemed to always happen in the middle of a good bite and with all the rods being retied , the crappie were free to eat the shad around the lights while you have to retie. He dubbed these times thug attacks and said that king Crappo has hired them thugs to wreck our rigs again. The name stuck pretty quick.

I'm sure you've figured out that the green carp are ba$$. Pesky things. Can't keep 'em off our lines.
We haven't come up with a name for the perch yet. Any suggestions?
And if anyone catches a bowfin on the Wylie/Catawba/Watteree waters, I don't care what you call it, as long as you call me :D
Welcome aboard Rickster! Lots of stuff to learn on this site and a great group of people to assosciate with.
John 21:3
Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We are going with you also." They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.
And we act like this Nightstalking thing is new.
For some excitment, read the next verse. A special guest arrived, they filled their coolers and had a fish fry on the beach...in the morning. My kind of people.- Bowfin

i catch a lot of bowfins while crappie fishing in the santee swamp, they are real strong pullers
Caught my share of bowfins at Lugoff striper fishing. Throw a curly tail into a root ball around a blown down tree or a shallow washout from under the roots of a tree and bam!. Most of the time you get hung, many times a bowfin! They do give a good tug and from the looks of them, they have been on earth alot longer than humans. They have a prehistoric look about them

How about bad boy-my dad used to feed birds a lot and it ticked him off when blue jays and blackbirds would get in the feeder and scare off the birds he was trying to feed. Dad had an accident and lost sight in his good eye and he couldn't shoot very well so when he spotted a bad bird he would tell me "bad boy in the box". I thought about that once when I got into a mess of perch.
