    Question Nightstalkin Shallow Water?

I was wondering if during the Fall and the Spring bite, do any of the nightstalkers go further up into the coves to the shallower water to fish? I am starting to hear some good reports from folks who are trolling jigs in the shallow coves at wateree and they catching good numbers.

So how about it, anyone fishing shallow or is everyone still fishing deep?

toad i set up in deep water year round. when we trolled we stuck to water 12 to 15 ft deep, which is a good depth for trolling in the spring and fall. with my set up 16th oz jigs run about 8-10 ft deep, 1/32nd 4-6 ft. trolling and nightstalking is two entirely different ways of catching em. my take on it is if you gonna spring or fall troll id say stay in water 12 to 15 ft and nightstalking stay in water at least 20ft. i think in a deep water setup the bite is better cause they got more of the water column to play with in an excape attempt and their options for excape narrows considerable in shallow water and they nervous about coming under a boat in shallow water. if i was gonna go shallow at night, id use slip bobbers and get baits out away from the boat.

Thanks Rango. That's good advice and I plan to stick to deeper water myself. I was just curious to see if anyone was trying anything different.
