Hey swampy - sounds like they starting to bite a little better in swamp as the water gets cooler. I will be down there next weekend and I am thinking about bringing the pontoon to try a nightstalk out behind the island across from Elliot's Landing (i can't remember the name of that little island). You ever had any luck catching crappie over on that side? or Are there any other areas close by that I could get a pontoon into to try for crappie at night?
I don't want to go to far back in the swamp, don't want no gator or ole jake trying to crawl up in the boat with me.... Thanks! -Toad

toadrunner, that island i think is hamburger island. across from packs on the far side i have been seeing people crappie fishing in the laydowns but i havent tried there i have been going pretty far back in the swamp when i used to have a larger boat we fished a lot around the trestle pilings and caught crappie. i think it should be good this weekend because of the cool weather, i will probably see you there

toadrunner did you know the guy that stayed across from me that they called sarge, he was an older man drove a little red truck, well he got killed 2 weeks ago in a fire at that mobile home you probably havent been there since then.

I heard about the fire from a plumber who went down to fix my water heater last week. He had said there was a fire just down the road from me, but i hadn't heard anyone was hurt, much less killed. No, i didn't know Sarge but i will say a prayer for his spirit and his family anyway. may he rest in peace.
