Thread: finally some crappie

went out of packs landing sat and to sparkleberry swamp caught 16 crappie with about 5 of them being big slabs all came out of one mess of fallen trees with a bunch of grass around them, the water temp was 69 and i was fishing in about 5 feet of water nice to go home with a good mess of fish for a change. i will go back this afternoon about 4:00 will let you know if still on, oh by the way i was using medium minnows they would not touch a jig.

. the water temp is really falling. the guys fishing in your area will be happy to hear that. the wind is really whuppin it here today. if its blowing like that down there, be careful. we are considering a nightstalk tonight ourselves, if the wind lays some

not as good this afternoon someone had messed my grassbed up and the wind was wrong, ended up with 8 but were a little larger than yesterday. my nextdoor neighbor caught 19 somewhere in the swamp early this morning but he said was real hard, still minnows, just no luck with a jig.

Sounds Good Swampy !! Some of my Fondest memoreys have been made on Santee trolling for Crappie several years back ,, I love Tater Creek, Goat Island , and also out from Angels on the Lower lake,, I want to be able to just once , take a week off when the Big ones are biting & get a Hotel & just fish , man talk about a trip and a half !!
