for those interested, the monticello catfish tourney was today that a guy from the boc got up,myself and crappie snapper were on my toon,we didnt have many show up as the weather played a big part in that, man was that wind tough,i would say there for about 3 hours it was a steady 20 mph with probably some 30mph gust,we diidnt do much good during that span as expected but from about 7 to to 10 we picked up about 5 fish, after the wind died down about 1,we got on em again and caught 8 more, ended up with 13,with the biggest going about 11 to 12 pounds, the others were fairly small, had a few about 4pounds each,we caught all fish drifting with herring and shad,we ended up catching the most fish total, the winning boat only caught 7 or 8 but they got on 1 big one that went 37 lbs,so they won with a total weight of 47 pounds for 5 fish,we ended up with 23 pounds for 5 fish to finish second, needless to say they got the big fish award too, overall we had a good time and learned alot more about the lake, the same guy is talking about doing one at wateree soon, maybe we can have some better weather and hopefully it will draw some folks from this board also, chris and the other guys seem like some pretty good fellows,so maybe we can hook up with them on some tourneys and they do likewise with us,that about wraps it up,will keep ya posted on the wateree one when he plans it out
the wind has a way of ruining a fishermans day, thats for sure. since we running catfish rodeos along with the crappie and striper, im suprised there aint none of them fellers throwing in with us at the rodeos to fish the catfish thing. id like to fish wateree with em when they do one down there. thanks for the report and congratulations on your finish

As I said on the other board, I felt bad for everybody over there , cause when I got up & started moving around , the Wind had started to get up , then by noon it was ripping !! I still wish my back wasnt messed up We would have been there too , Kids commented how they bet it was cold over there !
you guys remember that night we had the rodeo and the wind blowed so hard. when ot's crew run out of beer and eats, they mutnied on him and forced him to leave the lake at 9:30. they come by me demanding ot get em off the lake. said something about going to hooters for the rest of the evening. i have no idea why but thats where they was going. If i hadnt had the scales and was needed at the weigh in, my triffling butt would have beat em to the landing.......the wind was a ripper that night...

yea i remember that night well at the rodeo,it was a rough one for sure,if i had known there was a hooters trip from the landing i may have left crappie snapper to fend for his self,it wasnt as bad as monty saturday though,i believe that was the worst water i been on since a trip out deep sea fishing about 20 years ago that the weather turned bad on,but we survived to fish another day, luckily was was on my stable toon and not my 16 foot rhyan craft, dont think we would have made itmthey were a couple of folks in small boats,i guess they roughed it back in coves to it settled down
