Thread: Holden beach // spots

I have heard that some spots have moved in to the carolina coast... I will be heading down to holden beach on the 15th for a week of fishing... Anyone else heard about the fishing at the coast right now....

they are tearin it up out there right now.......until the hard blow is due to arrive Friday (Just in time for Tourney weekend). might pick back up just in time for your trip

we carried the boat down to southport last weekend and fished around bald head island and the bite was SLOW. managed 6 keepers on fishbites. boats using live bait faired no better. planning another trip in a couple of weeks. i have heard of coolers being filled this year but I am taking the frame of mind that if I didn't see it, it didn't happen. Fisherman are first class liars. lol. Hope you do better than we did on your trip.

pete...you heard any reports from the waterways or all from the piers?

flounder are biting good, grey trout are showing up, spots here and there, spanish macks are all on the beach now big ones at that. the Big red drum are showing up on the AR's now and that really bout sums it all up.

last week end we caught about 80-100 whiting, pompano, black drum, some nice weak fish or grey trout, a few flounder, and three puppies. 3 of us fished three days.

at least ya had some awsome weather. man what a life saver. gettin ready to hit the road here and decided to check the forecast 1 last time for tomorrow - Sunday. it changed from winds 20-30 MPH to winds 5-10 MPH.....hummmm can we say its time to catch em up!!! lata folks
