Info for new posters
For the new posters on the sc forum:
You being a new poster to the sc forum i need to explain some things to you. This is a crappie board which is our main and primary focus, however we dont limit our discussions on fishing strictly to crappie. Most of our crappie fishermen also target brim, catfish, striper or some other species when they get a chance so we dont limit discussions strictly to crappie. You can expect to see a lot of chatter on the catching of many different kinds of fish here, especially when they are hitting. Sharing of info is what makes all of us better all around fishemen and one thing we are known for here for is the sharing of info. Feel free to join in and post any time you like, however know that as long as me, stump hunter and gabowman are the moderators on the sc board and ed allows it, we will allow posters to discuss any type of fishing they care to discuss without limits... personal attacks nor anything not fit for a child to see or read will not be allowed. Discussions on religion or politics also will not be allowed as that almost always leads to an argument or uproar. If anyone wants to get into politics or religion, they MUST go to the off topic forum or we will move the thread there. welcome to the sc forum. enjoy your visits with us and feel free to jump in anytime you want. thanks
Rango
CATFISHERMEN;
the posting of catfishing tournament dates, rules and results will not be allowed on the sc crappie.com board. In ther past its been allowed as a courtsey to the catfishing clubs who have them but has created more problems than benefits for the members of this site. its unfortunate this step must be taken but it seems to be the best solution to an ongoing problem by allowing it to happen. catfishing talk will be allowed as long as it dont pertain to tournament nor catfish clubs. thanks. Rango
Below is a post made by CP (the site administrator) on the main board that should help anyone who sees a spam or offending post.
Super moderators are currently : Rango, Skip, and myself (crappiepappy).
If you see a spam post, or offending post ... simply click on the "report post" Icon (that's the white triangle with red borders & a exclamation point) that's at the top right of the message box. Then put your message in the box that appears and click "Send Report" button. One or all of us will get the message, and the offending post will be dealt with ... as soon as we get back on site.
Especially on spam ad posts .... DON'T click on any of the links !! That validates the connection, and the spammer gets paid for the "hit". Opening up any of those links, can also introduce spyware/malware cookies into your computer ... or viruses, or trojan programs. Best thing to do is to leave them be ... don't reply to them, don't click on them ... just "report" them !! Most of them are pretty obviously spam, as you can tell from the User ID name or title of the post.
ANY Moderator should be able to "soft delete" a post (remove the message text) on their respective forum ... but, only a Super Moderator can Ban the perp
................................
I think I speak for all the Mods, when I say :
We appreciate all the "thanks" !! We're just trying to keep the site clean and running smooth. We thank all the other members, too ... for behaving themselves and following site rules, and for reporting the spam.
... cp
