Calvin and I took my oldest boy Justin and his friend Cliff out to hopefully catch a few crappie last night. Justin and Cliff have there spring break this week and have been wanting to fish at night with us. We rode up to Crowders creek first but found that there was 3 boats set up were I was looking to fish . So I headed back to Catawba Creek. We had pleanty of day light left so we decided to throw out some minnows on slip corks around docks. Looked promising catching a fish on the first cast. But that was it not another bite there. We set up around 7:30 for the night stalk and the bite was good for a while. We caught a few large crappie but most were all nice sized. We did throw back five small ones. We also caught four perch. I did realize one thing during this trip. I have finally got my boat how I want it. This is the first time I have been out and came back not wanting to upgrade something. Feels pretty good. For the night we ended up with 21 crappie and the 4 perch and 5 throw backs. I also missed a few. Not a bad night and the kids loved it. Thanks for the information Rango . don't mind my asking,what kind of place did you set-up in?How deep?On the main lake or up a creek?How far up the creek?In the channel or close to bank?How deep was the water and how deep were you catching them?
I went last night on keowee and struck out.

rhodie,if that was you set up toward the mouth of cataba creek it sure seems like your set up right.....heck i was set up just past the bridge and could see my rods with YOUR lights..lol
was gonna ride up that way and see if y'all was someone from here but i had a good bite going so i stayed put

yeah, josh called me last night and asked, hey rango, you catching any over where you at. I said nope, im on the couch watching american idol and he said he was looking at a boat that was shining like the beast.. that must have been you rhoadie.

Yeap. That was me. Lighting the world up. Did not have a problem seeing anything on my boat. We were set up in the channel just a little ways before you get to the bridge. 25 to 26 ft of water fishing 8 to 10 ft deep. Oh yea . Catawba creek.
