Need a list of jig colors.
I'm getting back in the saddle and starting to get the itch to go fishing.
Last month when I got caught in the monsoon it messed up most of my jigs.
I've got to make a trip or 2 to my favorit city [Athens} this week or next, and I figured I stock up at academy sports while I'm there. So here's a list of jigs I'm going to buy. Add to it if you will, as I'm mainly a live bait fishermen,
1/16 oz jig heads
white curley tails
chartrues curley tails
black chartrues curley tails
blue chartrues curley tails
acid rain
White Marabou jigs
Chartrues Marabou Jigs
What else???

I see you like curly tails ??? I've never used them??? but I'm a vertical jigger not a driffter or spider rigger. I'd add orange and cht 2 incher's all the way paddle bugs or puddle jumpers I' really like them when things are tough

Beagler, longlining I use the following pretty regularly:
All 1/16th round heads is what I use (chart. green, hot pink, and bright orange for contrasting colors). For curly tails I use all 2" tails in the following colors:
Blue/Black with chart. tail**
Blue with chart tail**
Electric chicken**
tennessee shad**
Chart. shad**
bumble bee (can get these at Walmart)**
Wildcat with chart. tail**
Firetiger (can get these at Walmart)
Acid Rain
Bubblegum
Sour Grape
This is just a start. Once you get started you'll keep wanting more colors until you have a hugh box running over with 'em.
I got plenty more colors I use but most of them I got from Mike Bridges. He's the guy that sells tackle that has a shop at his house on the Calhoun Falls Hwy. He's a little bit higher than Academy but has so many more colors. His phone number is listed as Crappie Country in the phone book and can be caught most any evening but runs routes during the day almost every day. Academy sells the Southern Pro brand but if I'm correct they are only 10 to the pack. There's another brand (forget the name) and the grubs looks just like the SP brand, but theyre a 20 pack. I try buying those whenever I can. Nothing wrong with the triple tails either. The ones that's been hot for me lately have "**" beside them.
For spider rigging I use tube jigs. I like the solid bodies the best as they seem to hold on the jig better and outlast the hollow bodies. I only have a couple different colors and after longlining I can see that some days the fish prefer different colors so if I get back serious into spider rigging I'll have to pick up a few different colors. BTW, when spider rigging I always tip with minnows cause I move slow.

Butch, Thanks for posting, That's the kind of list I'm after, I'd rather buy enough stuff that will last for awhile rather then keep going back,
The other question I had was if most people use unpaited jig heads or painted ones, But I gues you answered that question.

I like the painted heads too but have used unpainted heads for spider rigging with just an black eye. Butch hit on some good colors. The bait that Academy sales is :Big Bite Baits: good jigs. Be sure to get some with a pearl tail, doesn't mater what color head.

Beagler, I would add some 1/32 jig heads unpainted or pink, black or red paint...sometimes the lighter headed jigs is the difference between a skunking and a filleting.
