Ya know, back in the days before house air conditioning, I dont think it got this hot!
Maybe it did though, and we all were just more aclimated to hotter weather. I can remember the tar from the tar gravel roads sticking to the bottom of my feet when I'd run across the road. You could see where the tar had bubbled up in the road.
I know I'm spoiled with AC these days but I dont mind admitting it either. Well anyways, I'm with you about all this heat.
I'm ready for cooler weather already too but I think we got another 8-10 weeks or so before that'll happen.

Fall? Heck I'm ready for winter, can't take this heat like I used to do, It sucks the life out of me! I fished till 1 pm one day last week, took 2 days to get over it.

I remember running around in shorts and no shoes till Sept. when school started. The bottom of my feet were black with tar and tough as nails.
We'd visit my Grandmother, every summer in southern Alabama hot humid no air. We didn't know any better so life went on.
We had a couple one man rubber rafts that we fished from, every summer our legs would burn and peel, we'd be red as a stop sign...aah! the good old days, now I hate being in direct sun

I remember we used to help haul hay for a guy.50 cents an hour .It was hot then but we didnt seem to mind as bad. Old square bales you heaved up on the truck or trailer. Then flipped to see who went in the loft to stack em.Couldnt wait to get done so we could go play baseball or ride 5 miles on bikes to fish in a pond. Now I cant hardly lift a bale much less run or walk in the heat. Must be gettin soft.
OLD AGE AIN'T FOR SISSY'S. !!! !

I cut and hung tobacco, hauled concrete blocks, mixed mortor, washed cars and pumped gas for 50 cents and hour.Cokes were 5 or 6 cents and three Krispy Cremes were 3 for a dime.
3 dozen minnows were $1.00 gas was 30 cents a gallon.
Minimum wage was 75 cents. No I don't want those days again.
