Russell is a hard lake, one day you're on em and the next they hide from you. The crappie seem to be spawning and moving to the banks. Pick a creek and work it over with about any jig that has chartreuse in it.

Reports are on the Bd from Beaverdam, Coldwater, Allan, English, Rocky River, all doing good for Day Trippers. Like Stump Hunter said pick one and go for it.

Why do you think someone that has spent many hours fishing and trying to find the crappie would tell the spot that they are fishing or the creek to go fish. I will tell you the depth of water, water temp and color of jig that worked and it's up to you to take the info and find the fish.
If I name a creek there will be 40 boats all trying to fish the same place and all the time and money that I spent to learn where to fish is wasted.
    I don't think so!!!!!!

Striperking probably didnt mean any harm but you do have a point Ronnie. This day and time it takes money to even get to the lake to fish. A man can spent a pretty nickel going fishing enough to locate and catch fish. To me it seems there has been alot of folks that have hardly ever posted amongst friends here on this board particularly (probably think this way since I mainly read and post here) that are coming in wanting to know where you caught your fish. Crappie.com is a family that shares techniques and tips/tricks to catching fish but when did it turn to a website that makes people think youre a bad guy for not sharing your fishing spot with them?!?

My best advice to anyone is to read the posts and take the info provided and apply it to your own fishing to locate and catch fish. For me...all I want to know is depth of water and at what depth theyre holding in, clarity of water, and temp. Bait (or color used) and style of fishing is a plus to get you going, but really not necessary. Any more than that should be offered, not asked. Half the fun of fishing is getting out and finding the fish for yourself.
