    Default just have to vent

I was all sent to go fishing this morning and was going to get things ready when I got home from work last night when I noticed that my check engine light came on in the truck. My truck has just past the 36k mile warranty and I dont know if its something stupid or serious. I do have the 100k powertrain warranty but I have to find out what the code reads before they will tell me if its covered or not. It costs like 40 bucks just for them to plug the computer up to it So instead of being able to enjoy the day out on the water I have to waste a nice day taking my truck up to the service department. I do have my dads truck to borrow but it doesnt have the right hitch to pull the boat I hope its nothing serious with my truck and it doesnt cost too much to fix.

First thing to check when that happens is the gas cap. If mine is loose the light comes on. Worth checking to save you the $40. Also autozone will do the code scan for free

    Smile I Would Have Guessed

When I read your post the first thing that came to mind was "bet it is a Chevy." My son has two and it is a pain to get anything repaired on them. The Greenville dealer will not take appointments. You have to drive up there and get in line and wait or have someone come get you and take you back. Sorry for your problem. I hope you get it fixed and it is covered.
BTW - It was windy on the lake.
I have spent most of my life fishing.
The rest I have just wasted.
