Default Found a Few for Supper

I've been at it for several days this week trying to find some crappie to catch up here at school! My school work schedule has been rough for the most part this semester, but this week I've had some free time and I've been hitting the banks almost every afternoon!

First let me tell ya....I admire bank anglers! People who can catch fish off the bank are amazing anglers IMHO. It's tough enough to find a spot that might be holding fish that can be caught within casting distance of the bank, but its even harder to find a spot on the bank that you can cast without hanging up in the overhanging limbs.....

Started out fishing Hartwell today. Today I changed up and went with the heavy artillery....MINNOWS...mainly cause i wanted some fresh fish for supper tonight! In a couple hours of fishing some spots on Hartwell I had one Redbreast(it just so happen I caught him on my first cast of the day)....but that thick little booger ate good!

We went back to Lake Isaqueena bout an hour and a half before dark. Bout 20 minutes before dark I found a lay down on a point that had some fish on it. We pulled 13 crappie off it until it became so dark we couldn't see our corks. Lost several fish...should have probably had 20! There wasn't any size to them, but it feels good to catch some fish from the bank! All the fish were between 7.5 and 11" and all were cleaned and fried whole! Many of the females seemed to be in the process of laying out. Squeeze a little bit and they squirted eggs....bout half and half males to females

Ain't nothing like fresh fried crappie.......

You going to be at Isaqueena Saturday? I might have a spot on the boat if you are interested.

have you tried Lamaster Dairy pond? it is really close to campus with some great bank fishing. also the three clemson dam ponds on Harper circle have some good fishing.

Went back this morning before class and caught 8 more. Still not any size though. Biggest was probably 11" again but everything else was between 8 and 10". Good size to fry whole.....

Anybody catch any bigger fish up there?

Fish on the bone are twice as good as fillets IMO. Just a little more trouble. Atleast now you know where to go catch a few while at school when that hunger pain like no other hits you...FRESH FRIED CRAPPIE! Bank fishing is tough, but I had confidence with your skills on the lake you'd find 'em. Congrats.
