wateree tues.
Went out tues morning. Fished a spot south of clearwater almost to the dam in 55 ft of water marked a ton of fish (blacked out my screen) only ended up catching 6 nice ones 6-9 lbs. and a ton of white perch and cats. The striper were so thick I actually snagged one in the back. The reason I think that the werent bitting all that well was that they were all full of small shad when I cleaned them. Fat fish. The water temp was 49 when I started and I think its 46 or 47 when the shad start dying off. Mybe they are getting an easy meal and not hungary during the day? I only saw 2 small schools not even worth chasing. I am going to wait a few weeks before going again, give them a chance to appreciate my bait.
