bottom line 480 max
my bow mounted depth finder finally quit working today. after checking the wiring with a meter, i figgered the past 6 years aboard the beast was more than it could handle and it give up the ghost. it started with the same crap it was doing the other day, but this time it wouldt correct itself when id cut it on. it would come on for a few seconds, then go off, as if someone had cut it off. I guess giving 6 years of its life to the beast and old rango burnt it out. anyway, im not one to be stuck behind the console when i got all that room upfront so i went over to bps today and bought another one. (when does it stop costing so much to fish) what i got was a bottom line 480 max. it fit within my budget (my budget being a broke bloke)and and looked like a good unit and would do what i wanted it to so now im the proud owner of a new bow mounted sonar. only bad thing about it is i had to dig into my final reserves i was gonna get the hand held gps with. i need the sonar worse, so ill put off gettin the hand held unit for a few weeks. tomorrow ill mount the new unit and get it ready for fridays wateree trip. the way electronics change nowdays, anything you buy is outta date in about 6 months, so i figger i got my moneys worth outta it. My console unit, the x15mt is 4 years old now. I hold my breath everytime i cut it on. If the sonar goes, and the gps stuff still works, ill just add another sonar and use the gps on it till that wears out to. thats all i need. something else hanging on the console.......
