Fellas I need some advice on the best rods for spider rigging at a good price. I've been using 11' bnm
Poles but I'm stepping up to 14'. I thought bought the southern crappie pole but haven't heard anything
    Bout them.

This is all a matter of opinion but here goes. To me, the best bang for buck is the silstars. $20-25 versus $40-50 for the WM and BNM Poles. And given a money not an option choice, I'd choose the silstars anyway. I do own and use all of the above and the silstars are my favorite. Been fishing the silstars for over 5yrs now without any trouble.
But like I say this is just me. (Don't want to start a rod war) Only problem is I think they quit making the 14ft rod. But I can still get the 10,11,12ft rods. Give one a try see how you like them. OH, they may be a little on the light side for tightlining, I don't know, but they are great for pullin jigs.
My addiction is a cure not a disease.

Monks prices are right on the Silstars right now. I ordererd 4 of them last Friday for longlining. I've never owned any before so I dont know how stiff they are for spider rigging though. The 12'ers I looked at at Academy looks a little flimsey for 1 oz. sinkers out on the end though but they have rod and reel for $20 ea.

You want your bait getting to the fish before you spook them. With a flimsy tip most times the fish will hook their self before they feel the rod.
