I've got a 99$ depth & temp. finder with a speedometer that I don't believe. If bird dog gave me cord's We couldn't apply em'. It took me years to get on the computer, maybe in a few we'll be high tec on the water. I got a hand held gps as a gift bout 5 yrs. ago, and lost it in a fire.
If you direct me accuratley with landmarks I can figure from there usually.
In the future I do want to get a good finder for James to use as the navigating half of our team.
TJ, there's plenty to choose from nowadays. Besides those sidescans (which I cannot make head from tails of) most of those graphs with GPS that I've seen are ready to use right out of the box. And if I can figger 'em out good enough to use 'em, then anybody can.
The hard part is figgering out which one to buy....uh...and, of course, paying for it.

I hate to tell you two and spread it all over the net but.............. I'm still working on 8-track. Have not yet made the big leap over to casset or what ever they have now-a-days. Did buy a DVD player about a year or so ago and it is STILL sitting in the box I bought it in on top of the T.V. I keep telling myself I need to get one of the younger neighbors from down the road to set this thing up for me. Maybe one of these days????

last winter i bought a new wide screen HD tv system with a surround sound unit and a also a dvd recorder and decided it best to pay best buy the 200 bucks to come out and install it. money well spent. it took em 3 or 4 trips before they got everything working right. i shudder to think what it would have been like for me doing it myself. now i got 4 remotes, two of which i never use. one for the tv, one for the surround sound system, one for dish network and one for the dvd recorder. you better know what buttons on the remote you pushing as they are all interactive and if you punch a wrong button you got major headaches trying to figger it out. a couple months after we got it set up we had some kids here who took it on theirselves to watch tv and started punching buttons and it was several weeks before i got that mess straightened out. now no kids are allowed near it and ONLY i am allowed to use any of them remotes. and that dvd recorder i still havent been able to figger out. since the tech showed me how to use it and left i havent been able to record the first minute on it. pisses me off. i could have got 7 or more ugly sticks for what that useless pile of stuff cost me. theres so much mumbo jumbo in the instruction books that i give up on them a long time ago. what ever happened to a simple on-off button and a dial for changing channels........
listen with your eyes---its the only way to beleive what you hear...
It gets me that you have 2 to 4 remotes to run all the things that goes with the TV sets and then they tell you that you need just one remote
Now-- if it takes all them buttons on one remote to run one of them boxes how in the world can they put enough button on one remote to run everything![]()
