Crowe creek very muddy. 49' surface temp. Saw 2-3 in. bait at the ramp in 1ft. of water?/???????. No crappie caught, but did boat 5 spots. There was a small bass tourn. with 1 boat tellin' me they had 4 spots @ 3;30 and strugglin' for the fifth. Tried to talk to some fellas in a spider boat, but they didn't have good manners, Acted like they were gaurding fort knox with their creel and methods. That conversation didn't last long! The big waters are pretty clear, with some creeks muddy "land development". Other creeks clear.
Close to full pool water level.
Some people thinks you are going to fish in their livewell if you get to closeGood to hear you got to go for awhile

Ya'll know their ain't enough out there for all of us!:D That's what I love about this board good folks willin to lend a hand!
TJ, I've never mindedf sharing techniques with anyone on the lake. But usually I dont tell people how many I caught because I hardly ever keep that many for the ride home. If I showed folks the 12-15 that I take home after telling them I caught 50+....well...
Luckily when crappie fishing when questions are asked you usually receiven friendly answers as long as youre not asking WHERE AT.Very unlike the responses you'll get most of the time from other fishermen after different species of fish. But, as always, there are a few that wont share anything. (I've often wondered if those were the same people at other lakes or ramps asking questions when they were down on their fishing.
)
That's tough TJ. I haven't fished Crowe creek in awhile now but there are some good brushpiles near the ramp in both directions that usually hold a few this time of year. Too bad the water was muddy or you may have done better.
Thanks cleon, We fish keowee a lot but not for slabs. I'm going to have to fish it more if these gas prices don't come down. I'll take your help If I take James out. I can help you on russell. My family stays in touch on the spawn as well as a few freinds for freezer fillin'purposes. I hope this board does. Timing is critical as you know especially when the blacks are in 12 in. of water in cover, or the whites on the flats are doin' their thing. I'll gladly tell ya' when the herd is in.
I see your in Easley. We're in Pickens. Maybe we can save a gas$ and get together for some runs down the river.
