Unhappy Russell/Rocky River 11/22 Night Mud Stalk

Not much to report other than it's MUDDY!!!! Put in at Felkel, thought it wouldn't be to muddy there but that was my first mistake. The second was getting the boat ready to launch and had a tie wrap that needed cut. Well, cut it and a finger to the bone. Had a first aid kit and used 1/2 roll of tape to close the meat back together. Wasn't about to leave before doing some fishing. Got set up at 5pm with the lights in the water. My green lights will make the water glow around the boat but tonight I had around an 24'' light in the mud!!! At 8pm no bait had come in and no fish had wanted my minnows so I called it a night. It's going to take a few weeks for the water to clear up and the debris to sink or wash to shore. Water temp is 47 degree, so the temp is getting right if the water will clear up. Oh well, don't know until we try

Don't know why I put 11/22 when Christmas is 2 days away, LOL it is 12/22

Atleast you gave it a try. The Broad River going into the Hill is just down below my house, and there's still a lot of water and junk going down it.

If your finger keeps bleeding get some super glue and close it up. No kidding I have to put super glue on my wife to close up the needle holes when they drain her in order to stop the fluid from coming out. it works.

Ronnie, you just now getting around to posting about a 11/22 fishing trip?!? LOL...J/K

Hopefully all this rain will come to an end soon and the lakes will clear up and settle down some. Spent the day on the hill today watching fish all over the water column and not hardly any would bite a hook or a jigging spoon. 'Course how could they when they couldnt SEE the dang bait! Maybe better days will be in our fishing future in 2010.

This is not the first time I have put down the wrong date lately It was last night 12/22 :D

The lakes are messed up with the mud and the fish can't see the bait. I was hoping some fish would run into my hooks :D:D I know fish go by smell but no way a noise will work in these mud fields.

Tough luck, Ronnie....hopefully things will get better soon. I was wondering though why nobody is fishing the savannah side, I figured it wouldn't be as muddy?

It is muddy also, fished it a couple weeks ago and the fish wasn't doing anything. The main river run was muddy, must be because of the water they are pulling off of Hartwell. Thinking about going to Greenwood tonight, just don't know how the water is there.

Six and Twenty creek was muddy Monday at the Brown Rd. ramp, not sure about anywhere else.

Ronnie, I went to Greenwood last night, it is muddy.
No bait came to my lights, and no fish were biting. Just going to have to wait it out I guess, on a good note the depthfinder worked.

Ronnie, William was working Russell the 22th and said he came up the Savannah to @ the mouth of Vans and reported it was relativlely clear now. I'd bet most of the creeks are red though.
