Went down and bought some jigs, catfish bells and some hooks at the tackle store past Ridgeway and went on to scout wateree.
Wateree reeport: talked to two boats coming off to weigh in. 1 boat 8 fish, 1 boat 5 fish. All four guys were miserable. Maybe they should've went huntin'? Fishin' in cold, windy, brown soup got the best of their attitudes, but the 8 catch probably weighed 13-14 lbs. I didn't go to the weigh in. Mighta Made Me Cry............
Colonels creek brown, water level looks 2ft. down? Loons were workin' but the gulls were out of luck, very few and none eating.
The dam: better water but still dirty. Found all the gulls. Must have been a thousand sittin' on the dam facin' the tailrace.
The tailrace: the reason the gulls were facin' the tailrace is cause they were watchin' for cut bait coming through the gens. It was so slim that one would swoop a peice up, 15 or 20 would try to steal it!
In summary; Four seasoned tourney fishers, and a bunch of birds miserable. Maybe it's a good thing nobody went with me or it mighta made them Cry!
But Me I Had A Ball! Except A Sore Butt From 8 hrs. on the road. By the way, new jigs in the store!
Now I don't feel so bad about sleeping in. Thanks for the report
