    Default Myrtle Beach area fishing

    Hi from Missouri Ozarks!

Wife and I are headed to Myrtle Beach for a few days. Just wondering if there are any crappie hot spots nearby. Also, are there any good sports bars in Myrtle Beach for watching college football games this Saturday?
    Thanks!

I can't help you with the crappie spots.
The Boathose is a sports bar located on the ICW. It is just off 501 by hard rock park. Fries and burger will run you about $8.00.
If you pier fish you should be fishing at first light. The way the weather looks now the surf might still be up for the weekend?

Crappie husker, Depending on where you are staying at Myrtle beach there alot of piers.
We were there last weekend and I fished 2nd ave. pier. I did not do good at all because my wife was tired and did not want to get up early. Last weekend they were catching spots at the cherry grove pier which is north of north Myrtle beach. Apache pier is the longest one and they were catching sea trout there. It is located just south of North myrte close to I -22. The 14 ave. pier is very short. Then you have 2nd ave pier they were catching trout there from about 6am to 9am. If you are staying more on the south end there is Spring maid pier and then the state park pier. Surfside and garden city both have piers too.

IF you have a boat you can go down to Pawleys Island. My brother was there last week and caught several flounder, red fish, sea trout and spot. Even if you don't have a boat with you, the fishing has been pretty good off the bridge at Pawleys too.
