Thread: Lake Russell Nightstalk 11-01

I got to the Lake at 5 o"clock and low and behold the ramp was packed.
A stinking Bass club from up North is holding a week long tournament.
Finally after waiting on the Yankees to do their weigh-in and get their boats out of the way I launched at 10 minutes till 6. It was already starting to get dark so I headed for the closest place I knew of. I got set up and was fishing in a few minutes, It started out strong but by about 7 it quit with a stragler every now and then. I called it quits about 9:30 and ended up catching 14 and bring home 11. I thought the way it started I'd be limiting out in no time. fished in 30 ft of water, and didn't pay any attention to what the water temp was.
I imagine with the weather coming in tonight and tomorrow the lake will be messed up for the rest of the week. Maybe it will blow the yankees and their boats back north.:D

I just noticed the date says 11-01 I meant 11-09 see what retirment does to you.

glad you caught some fish Beagler....but them green carp fisherman do wear on ya huh? Hopefully the fishing will be more consistent in a few more weeks..

Good to see you got back out and caught a few Chuck. You did good keeping your cool having to wait 50 minutes to use the ramp. I believe I'da lost my temper before then. I started to go myself but thought it was gonna blow hard last night. Anyways, congrats on your catch.

Good catch after waiting so long They had to put something in the water about 6 and it took an hour for it to get down to you!!!

I don't know maybe the fish on the SC side don't know how to tell time It was so late and getting dark by the time I got in the water I didn't go up under the bridge, just fished a cove near the ramp.

I seen that ramp and I thought for a split second about leaving. I was talking to a couple of them and they were telling how bad things were up in Ohio, no jobs people getting laid off. I felt like telling him I can tell after all y'all drove 12 hours with your $50.000 rigs to bass fish.
