Thread: Clarks Hill Report (Mims Branch)

Went fishing saturday. Bite was real slow. Caught a couple 7-8 inch crappie under corks about 5' deep at the edge of Fort Gordon Marina Docks, water depth was about 12-14'. Got some hits on Chartruese/Chartruese and Chartruese and black bucktails but the minnows were more productive. The downside was we caught a bunch of yellow perch that were small, but one was over 1lb. Hope the bite picks up, think i might go back to Mims branch. There was alot of bait activity and fishing chasing them. Longlining jigs on edge of creek channel was not productive. Not much boat traffic out there and there was fish in the area, just werent biting. I left at 7:30, I think I should have stayed later, might have found more fish.

Thanks for the report Carlos, glad you caught some fish even if it wasn't what you were after, keeps the day a little interesting.
