    Thumbs up More slabs 11/08pm

Went solo Sat am, a little brisk on the water at daylight 35 degree brisk, lost a pig right off the bat...ended up with only 6 fish....they were all good 'uns but the bell must have rung at 10am. With no more bites I pulled out at 1:30pm....Buddy of mine called and wanted to go this afternoon, so we left out after dinner. Got down to the lake and set up on the channel ledge again..color of jig didn't matter, still at 12' depth....we didn't limit out but I did have the pleasure of netting the best pair of fish my buddy had ever caught...which made the effort worth it...These fish are healthy and their color was beautiful...what ya'll think?Name: merritcrappie.JPG

Burdawg, I do believe you found the honeyhole the biggun's like to call home. That pair is as colorful as they come and some slab crappie too. Congrats to your pard on the pair and to both you guys for the nice mess of fish. Just out of curiousity, you say you "set up" on the ledge. Does that mean you anchored or were you slow trolling down lines?

Those are 2 of the nicest fish I've seen come out of Russell. They'd make anyone proud.
