Default Longliner43 second night stalk at hill

We put in at hwy 378 in little river and went up the creek.I found abig brush pile on a drop off in abend in the creek channel. It had a bunch of fish suspend above the brush on the ledge next to the channel.I was in 18 feet of water .I put out 2 green lights ahad a bunch of bait fish around the lights.I put out eight rods with a mix of minnows and shad .I had rod going down all around the boat.I had a school of hybrids come by.We end up limiting out on hybrids and caught 5 big crappie from 730 till midnight thursday night. The crappie just not biting but the hybrids would come by every 15 to 20 minutes. The where 2 to 3 lbs about 15 to 17 long. They tangle my lines up every time in a big ball of fishing line.I hope next week at russel if better for crappie.

Atleast you had a busy time with those stripers/hybrids on your stalk. Beats watching rods doing nothing by a bunch. Those lines can get into a mess in a hurry too. It gets tough with a tangled mess when the fish want to bite too. By next week the cooler water temps should stabilize the crappie and the moon doesnt come up until after midnight, so maybe things will pick up. I hope so anyway. I'm planning a trip or two soon and am like you...hoping the crappie bite good. Congrats on your trip.

Dang!!! I can't catch nothing but them 3 pound hybrids Good problem to have LL :D:D I have always wanted to nightstalk that part of little river, caught some nice crappie there before in the daytime. Hope you have good weather next week on Russell, sounds like we will have rain Tue and Wed. You have the bait coming to the lights and that's the will pull the crappie to you. It's a pain when all the rods gets tangled together but you will have big crappie tangle the rods also and my problem is I can't see good in the daytime to tie hooks so it gets interesting at night :D:D
    Good luck next week.
