    Default Upper Santee Swamp Crappie

Here is my catch today. They would only hit minnows and wouldn't touch a jig of any kind. Even the blue gills were hitting minnows. I had to throw back a dozen keeper fish so I wouldn't be over the limit. It's been a good while since I had a good day like this...

That's a nice mess of fish!!!
Is this upper Marrion area your're fishing? It's been about 5 or 6 years since I've been able to fish santee. I was wondering how the fishing would be after the drought.
My dad and I would put in at Lowfalls landing and either go up river and turn right into an area we called broadwater. Or we'd go down river and turn left into the flats before the river opened up into the lake.
We cought lots of nice crappie in both areas and some monster cats out in the flats.
    Man I miss santee
