Cats Cats and moorrre Cats. could not keep them away! got eaten alive by catfish!

met up with David and put boat in at colonel creek. bait was very easy to net. 5 minutes tops and i had enough to fish all day. set up in the channel in the thick fog and trolled away. we wore some catfish out and the striper were few and far between. we saw many striper busting bait near by but couldnt get bites from them. isolated single fish, no schools. cant tell you how many times i had a fish blow up on my planner boards today. at least 6 times!

to make a long story short, we caught at least 30 blues in the 2-10 lb range, 3 perch, and 2 striper. both striper were nice in the 6-7 lb range. we pulled off another 2 or 3 (damn ugly sticks are worthless....so David learned today). only kept 4 cats that were 5-6 lbs.

90% of the fish caught were on free lines and planner boards.

pretty flat calm day to be on the water.....maby toooo pretty. will try it again soon.
Water temp when we started around 64. 68 when loading up. good luck to anyone going tomorrow. i might make it down again Thursday.

Nice day to be on the water. Fish are a bonus on a bluebird day like this. Glad you got a few stripers. I've never had much luck on the full moon. Thanks for the report.

Good report Pete, good information. At least we got an idea about what's going on down there. I hope to hit it in a week or two. They're killing me here at work, 75 hrs. a week. Maybe we can hit it on the same day before long and lay it on them like we used to.:D

Although the stripers didnt show up still had fun with the kitties..Now ya gotta take a brush and scrub the slime off the carpet..Im with ya i think theyll show up after few cold nights,,,thats ok we,ll go bust bout 40 or 50 crappie tomorrw....By the way,,i wonder if anybody out there has ever ran a trotline,,,fishbasket/traps,,or jugs on wateree---man you,d probably stay busy for sure...
