I know this is a crappie site but the crappie are slow this time of year. I put the downriggers on my boat from back in my salmon fishing days. Now I need to know what lures work best and what a good trolling speed is for stripers. I fish on Lake Murray. Any feedback would be appreciated.

dont know much about downriggers, but been doing fair on freelines and pulling planer boards with small weights on em at Wateree. caught very few on down rods so far.using live shad 1-4 in is what i prefer.
OLD AGE AIN'T FOR SISSY'S. !!! !
Troll quite a lot at Murray. We use grandmaw lures, slivers and bucktails. Troll between 30 and 50 feet generally at 2 to 3 mph per GPS.
Thanks all for the good advice! I'll give it a try this weekend. See you out there Iamfishing! I'll be around the towers in a 1750 Crestliner.
