Hey Beagler...long time no see. I read where the Mrs. has been in the hospital more. Knowing she's home now, I hope all is well and she's headed back to a full recovery.
I havent fished Russell since the first week of July but have been on Clark Hill and Hartwell most every weekend. Last few times have been for stripers but decided to try for crappies yesterday on 'da hill. Went back to Pistol and the minnows would curl up on the hook about the time they hit the water. Caught 8 or 10 crappie with only one keeper the first 1/2 and decided to move since I was rebaiting with live minnows so fast. Went in a cove in Savannah R. headed up to the dam and found water under 80 degrees and the minnows would last on the hook, but never did find any crappie that would bite. Instead I got into white and yellow perch so I caught them until I was out of minnows about 11AM. I think bow season opens in another 3 weeks or so so I guess I'll finish the summer with the stripers and see if I can catch a good 'un. Cooler temps is gonna help with fishing. Atleast with cooler water youll be able to keep a minner alive.

Thanks for the reply Butch. Them Perch can be a lot of fun when you get into them. I haven't felt a tug in so long I'd be happy if any kind of fish took by bait. Cooler weathers ahead you can tell early in the morning that fall is in the air then it's time to roll
