Tried the Crappie on Friday, but the game plan didn't pay off. Caught one small crappie (7 3/4 in) and a small perch in nearly 3 hours of trying.
The only crappie came off a some brush in about 18 FOW. I tried fishing and nearly every depth. Found some bait, but it was all on the surface and didn't seem to have any Crappie feasting on them (only GAR). I really think most of the fish move towards bigger water this time of year on Murray. But, you can't catch em if you don't try.
It's time for my fishing to come to a close and fill the freezer with deer now. Got a some boat work to take care of this Fall come November and December I'll be chomping at the bit to catch a few slabs!
A side note....Here is picture from our trail camera of a pretty decent buck. The one on the right is a seven point missing a G3... and the other is a bigger bodied eight. It's cool to see whats roaming in the middle of the night.
Hooking up every chance I get!
Some good shots of the deer. Sure does make it easy to set in a stand knowing that there are good bucks around!!!

Most people never know what's in their deer woods but those cameras really get you pumped I bet.I'd be nice going into the woods opening moring of bow season knowing you might get a crack at that big 8 pter.
Sorry the fishing went south on ya but they'll be back. Now get those stands ready cause it's coming soon!

Hey! In that second pic those tine tips on the deer in the middle look pretty sharp. Is he still in velvet or can you tell?!?![]()
I am seeing some good deer in the mornings, between 8 and 9 am, this last week or so, right where little man killed his 8 pointer at last year. If nothing happens, it is looking good for him this year. We are working on some new stands this week, hoping to have them out some time next week.
The crappie may have been tough but looks like you got some nice bucks to harvest. Good luck with them.
