    Default C.H. Striper Hunt 8/8

Only because there aint much posting about fishing right now, I'll share a not so great trip this morning as far as cooperating fish is concerned....

Anyway...made it to the boat ramp right before daybreak and got everything situated and the boat in the water. Eased thru several spots looking on the graph and was seeing nothing. Finally decided to go ahead and drop a few downlines just to see what happened. Only caught 3 stripes and called it quits at 10AM. This morning was another calm day and the heqat held off long enough to call it enjoyable just wisheed the fish woulda cooperated a little better. Oh well, about my luck!

I decided to check out the spot I caught some crappie at earlier and to see if anyone was fishing there. I did have the pleasure of running into D.I. and his fishing partner. According to D.I. the fish are still holding in the area but dont seem to be biting very well this morning. He feels maybe the full moon might have something to do with it. Since they were already fishing the area I didnt ride around in it to graph the area but as I was easing out of there I did see it's still holding ALOT of shad so it looks like it might be a decent place to catch crappie the rest of the summer.

Here's a pic of my largest this morning. Weight was 7.1 lbs. As I dont keep the stripers I catch all's I got is the pics I make so I decided to share this one with you guys. Tight lines everybody.

At least you got a nice striper out of the deal. I bet you got your next crappie trip planned already after seeing the bait fish still in the area you were catching them.
Thanks for the pic and good luck on your next trip.

It was pretty slow today. Right after you left we started trolling crankbaits and caught two good white crappie around the bait balls.
