Been putting off what I could do today until tomorrow....for years now, so I finally got started on them. I was actually planning on doing these things when the plant shut down the end of July but since that didnt happen I thought I better get it done before the weather started cooling off or it wouldnt get done AGAIN. (You know...fishing and hunting right around the corner.)
Anyhow, me and Allen have finished tearing off all the old tin and rafters off my out building and replaced all of that. We have also replaced some old (leaking) tin on top of my boat shelter along with some rotten boards due to the leaks. Now we're building Allen an enclosed shelter to keep his boat and fishing gear in so it wont be sitting out in the weather. After cutting down a couple trees and clearing a spot, we got the 8 post holes dug and set the posts and cemented them in this afternoon. I think I'll let that cement set up on those posts for a couple days cause God knows I need the rest!
One thing for sure is I've gotten OLDER!!It just takes ALOT LONGER getting these type things done than it used to.
Now I know Ive had a pretty easy job (manual labor-wise) for the past 15-20 years but I aint never been afraid of any hard work either but it just aint as easy as it used to be.
'Least now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel again so fishing aint that far away anymore.
This weekend is tied up with a fish fry for about 40 people Saturday afternoon and then we move Amy into her new apartment at college next weekend and MAYBE things will start settling down around here again.
I sure hope so cause if it dont I might just move downtown to the motel to get away from it all for awhile!
:D:D:D
It's good to hear you are still working on your jobThose things around the house can and will add up fast
Sounds like you and Allen has put a good dent into the work. Hope this hot weather that is coming doesn't slow you down to much. Be careful on then roofs, old bones take a long time to heal
