We got to Murray about 7 PM. Lake was much calmer than last week. Headed for some water in the 150 foot range. Got set up before dark which was early as the front pushed through and clouds were blankening the sky. Had a wonderful but sorta scary lightning show from around 10 PM till about 1 AM. Barely hear the thunder but the display was fantastic if you like that sort of thing. Caught the first striper at around 10:30 PM and action was steady all night till daybreak when they shut off. Final count was 13 all over 18 inches with three at 21-23 inches. Kept 7 and headed home at daybreak. Downlined in 143 feet with fish generally on the 70 foot mark...sodium lights and generator. Couple photos.

I,ve got a question for you guys... Do any of you fish up in the small creeks that feed into the river for stripers? The reason i ask is i,ve got to make a trip to carnsville which is not to far from hartwell. Was thinking that i might try to do a little stripe fishing while the wife visits her mom.:D I,ve caught lots of the big hybirds on weiss in these small creeks where you wouldn,t think they,d be at.:D.........Tags.
good catch & nice pics.
Live and Learn."Life's short fish Hard"
one thing that ive noted from my years of striper fishing is that after a day or 2 of some good heavy rain (late spring/summer/early fall) the striper will pull off the main lake and push into the creek some where the cooler and oxygen rich water is flowing from (along with the bait). dont let that fool you though, because in a moments notice, they will pull right out into the main lake. always worth checking out. Those who have striper fished with me know that i usually spend a good amount of time riding around trying to mark good numbers before i start fishing. hope this helps some.
if at first you dont succeed............drink another beer
Gotta go.......FISH ON !!
