Default Fried Perch

I've been reading on here for some time now about how tasty these white perch really are. Had a couple of big bags of perch fillets that we recently caught down at Wateree and decided to baptize them in some hot grease this past weekend just to see for myself if all this talk was true. I'm here to say that I am now a believer. Them dadgum things are some mighty fine eatin'. Washed 'em down with some cold beers and got myself all fat and happy. I've always targeted crappie and couldn't stand to catch those things but we got into some pretty good sized ones and decided to take a mess home. I'm glad we did. My days of cussin' the white perch and throwin' 'em back are over. They are going to the house from here on out.

Moose, first off welcome to the boards. Speaking about the perch, my wife says they are BETTER than crappie. I cant hardly tell the difference myself. As long as they are big enough to clean I dont throw them back either. Luckily, my lake doesnt have a very large population of them, but I never let one live even if I aint keeping 'em after reading about how Wylie got took over with em.

welcome to the site moose. when wp first started showing up, they was mostly little two finger fellers, not much bigger than bass minnows. now that they gettin some size on em, they are big enough to eat, and are mighty fine eating, not to mention fun to catch, expecially for day trippin trips which might otherwise be fishless.
