Default Volunteers Needed For Organized Habitat Projects

We at Slabfest.org are scheduling future drop locations as i type this and you are invited to participate in the scouting, building and placement of fish habitat/condos.
Habitat is very important to all fish populations and we are here to insure the replacement of deteriorating habitat conditions across the country.
With your help, this massive construction project will become a reality.
This is a necessity to most area lakes because the fishing pressure is greater than ever and the electronic age is fully upon us now.
Please help us to help our fishing future.

Way to go Allen and Rollcaster...
Thanks fellas, all help is appreciated.
First up are volunteer project managers for lakes that are local to them.
SI owner/operator a plus but not mandatory.
All corp of engineer lakes must be installed within their guidelines and we will assist managers in obtaining research info, topo maps, permits, materials ect. In a nutshell, anything that we can do to assist the manager is done so grab the bull by the horns and we'll take this ride together.

I am suprised that this thread has low interest. It won't take much to get a program started on your lake. A little time and sweat is all it takes.

I have started collecting buckets, bamboo, and old pvc. Let me know guys.

I would like to work on Sinclair especially.

I would also like to keep GPS locations on all and share these with the participating. I sank three locations in Island Creek two weeks ago.

We may want to put a thread on the main forum requesting buckets and old pvc.

10" Limit or Bust!

There you go fellas a fine sportsman has stepped up to the plate for Sinclair, get off your behinds and to show my talk ain't cheap I will try to donate some buckets or cement or something. I'll give you my recipe: Go to lowes find the lowest psi 3/4 inch pvc it is 90 cents per 10' stick., 80 lb bags of cement are 3.00 a bag.( you can get 2 condos out of a bag) Fill buckets half way with dirt and insert pvc. Fill bucket the rest of way with cement. Wet with hose , let cure, then sink in the proper place. If it's sunk in the right place you will have fish on them in 30 minutes. For 10 to 12 bucks per condo, you can have something that lasts way after the boo and whatever withers away, you won't get hung on it and it won't tear up props.

those are nice tony I have used pvc like that a few times 3 years ago. I lost the dang things. no gps. Found them last year when I got a good sonar..can't see mine on the si. found my buckets not the pvc.. I used 1/2 pvc.. Guess i need the 3/4. I love the fact of it lasting.
bamboo needs to be dropped every 3 years or ya lose it........BUT....for 1 year it keeps leaves and is great for fry to hide in. and the boo comes in longer lengths...but your hard work rots away.
When we get a project going we can but pvc in bulk 20ft lengths and cut what we need. Cement comes cheaper by the mix truck too. It would take a bunch of buckets to use a yard of crete..lol by the pallet might be cheaper..plus being non profit, no TAX for the state that won't do it.
