    Default Helix down image?

Will there be a difference in quality of picture in down image? Using the Helix g2 DI l/o Helix G2 SI units.

    Well let's see ...,

All HB DI units (regardless of Gen) have a dedicated DI piezo ...

HELIX MEGA SI units also have a dedicated DI piezo ...

    HELIX 5 SI G1, HELIX 7 SI G1, HELIX 5 SI G2, HELIX 7 SI G2, HELIX 7 SI G2N - none have a dedicated DI piezo ...

Any unit with a dedicated DI piezo will have better DI than the SI units that do not have a dedicated DI piezo ...

(ONIX and SOLIX also have a dedicated DI piezo) ...

Wish I could see the two unites side by side but not possible in my area. So how does both Helix units compare? My Helix 5 DI on the trolling motor doesn't have GPS which I want. So will I be Happy with Helix 5 Side Image unit?

I don't think you would be happy, using di from si.going from a di unit to a di from SI unit....

Yep .... If DI is important to you either get a dedicated DI unit .... or one of the SI units that have a dedicated DI crystal in the transducer as Rickie laid out.
