Default Helix not reading the bottom of water column?

I noticed Friday that my Helix 7 was not reading the bottom 3 feet of water column. I checked settings and it was not adjusted, so I'm not sure what would cause this? It did it twice, both times I cut the unit off and waited a little while and it fixed itself, but why would it be doing this in the first place?

I had this happen yesterday on the Helix 9 chirp GPS G2N. The only thing I found to correct it was what Rickie suggested. I had to reset to defaults. Not sure why it happened but that took care of it.
