Of course Fish ID can be fooled ... but still is a viable option for thick cover or fish schools with several sizes in the school ...

Rickie what setting do you recommend for fish I’d sensitivity?

Fish ID Sensitivity at default 5 is usually good enough ...

Do you have the ability to do SI? If so, maybe make a few passes from different angles at about 3 mph with chart speed set at 3-4 and sensitivity set to 11-12. I think you would be able to read more off it and possibly see fish shadows if taken from different angles.

Other option is to really study it with sonar by playing with settings and going over at different angle passes looking for arches.

Curious to know what you find, good luck!

There are three symbols under fish id, single fish, two fish and three fish. What does each represent?

HB Fish ID has 3 sizes of fish icons ...(based on an algorithm of approximate size of a bass swim bladder) ...

*Small represents fish similar to a 1lb bass ...
*Medium represents fish similar to a 2lb bass ...
*Large represents fish similar to a 3lb bass ...

I have always turned my fish ID off on all my units regardless of make. After reading how Wayne used it. I decided to try it on my Humminbird Helix

7 G2 Sonar/Gps. No Si or DI. While fishing off of docks. The Helix 7 constantly revealed the fish on fish id. When it showed fish I caught them. When it didn't I twiddled my thumbs.
