    Default Settings for Helix 7

I can't seem to get my Helix 7 SI unit to give me the clarity I'm seeing on other peoples' screen shots.
Any particular settings I may need to adjust (based on where I'm fishing I assume)?

I also tried Saturday to find 2 trees I sunk a year ago and couldn't see them on my screen, and knew exactly where they were sunk.

The 2 most important settings in the HB SI units are ...:

*Chart Speed matched to boat speed for structure / a notch or 2 higher for fish ... (this is probably the most common issue with HB SI imaging not being satisfactory) ...

*SI Sensitivity up/down to brighten/darken the screen as bottom hardness and water depth changes ...

And pick a pallete color that works well with the current ambient lighting conditions ... Brighter palettes for sunny days / darker palettes for cloudy days ...

So what should chart speed be for the 2-4 mph range?

2-3 Chart Speed for best structure images at 2-3mph ...

A tad higher will elongate fish echoes when looking specifically for fish and not looking at elongated stretched out structure ... (higher Chart speed stretches fish echoes which can make them easier to see) ...

Went out with a club member that really knows his equipment for a lesson not long ago - time well spent. He kept his chart speed at 5 while idling at 2-3 MPH looking for fish on structure for the same reasons you state
