No. The rod goes through a screw on bracket like a portable rod holder. The rod and the PVC pipe move as one piece. I know this is hard to picture.

I may be out of synch here, but does the echomap only take the ps21 and the echomap plus has the ability for ps22 and some others? I may not be entirely on track here. But I thought from something posted on bbc that my 93sv chirp was only capable of 21

Your chirp is showing as compatible with the 22 on Garmin's site.

Ok, thanks Derek. One day I really think I want panoptix. Probably the 21 as forward is what I care most about
