    Default Interference Problem, Help!

I just put a 24 volt Minn-Kota and a Garmin 73SV on my aluminum boat. Side image seems to do alright but noticed interference on my 2D view everytime the trolling motor is turned on. I may have this interference on DI too but the screen is a little dark on the DI to tell for sure. What can I try to get rid of this interference? For now the transducer is on the trolling motor.

Is the interference present when the motor is on 100%?

Is the Garmin powered by a TM battery?

Not surprised that you have it. Lots of rf interference discussions. 2d is where I would expect it to show up, not dv or sv. I have some on my 93sv on 2d only, and only noticeable when deeper than 10 or so fow. Separate battery source from TM is a must, keep all ducer cables as far away from TM power as possible, coil excess ducer cable in large loop or fig 8 and away from TM power. The 100% is about the pwm battery saving being over-ridden when maxed out. Tells you whether it is the TM or not. Take your ducer loose and hold it in water away from TM, you may have to move farther than you think as some TM put out strong rf sigs. Read the sticky kosmo ref'd. Lotta chokes, twisted wires, grounds etc. Everyone can be a different cause and therefore different resolution. Good luck. There are people here who can offer great insight.
