    Default Question on PVC

I have a Helix 7 on order and I'm curious if PVC shows up on SI and if so what settings do you use to see it?

Yes Sir it does. I have seen 1 inch using middle of the scale settings. I don't have any snapshots though.

I have dropped a few PVC structures and I cannot see them on the sonar due tot he fact that there is not any air trapped in the PVC to give you a digital signature. Not like wood the PVC is not solid and does not throw back a solid ping like air bladders in fish or solid wood or rock objects. Some can "reset" their sonars to find them but you usually do not keep the settings at the extreme all the time to find PVC. I do look for square blocks as I have been able to see the anchor blocks on sonar and use them to guide me to the structure.

I have made some pvc structures using 3-4 inch with 3/4 limbs, they show up in 2d and SI. Some times on SI you don't see the actual structure but see the shadow. Next time I'm fishing that bay I will post screenshots.

Thanks for all the answers, I'm trying to decide whether to start sinking PVC or stick with Bamboo when I get my Helix 7 SI.

I have found that natural cover tends to hold more fish than pvc in the lakes I fish. But I also believe location is just as important as the material.

I put the single condo out for "target" practice. I usually put them in groups of 5-7.
