Default Tournament 2 Wilson Lake

sorry it took so long to post these results. Draggin behind here of late.

We had a tournament on Wilson the last Saturday in June. We fished out of Shoals Creek. Most everyone stayed in Shoals creek. The best fish were caught trolling crankbaits with fish also being caught on curl tail grubs. Here were the results

1st place 6.39lbs// Big fish 2.11
Ray Tuggle
Ray is our newest member joining the club the MOnday night meeting before the tournament. He trolled crankbaits in Shoals creek and caught some VERY nice fish. He very well may have caught the biggest fish for this season with big fish honors. 2.11

2nd place 5.36
David Waters/Bevin Berry
Bevin and I fished in Shoals creek trolling crankbaits and pushing curl tail grubs. The grubs produced better for us, but the biggest fish came on a Chartruese bandit 300 series using 8 pound test with about 100 yards of line out.

3rd place 4.43
Keith Dodd and Don Ledbetter
Keith and Don fish shoals creek with curl tail grubs. They caught many fish but said they just couldn't find that big fish they wanted.

4th place 3.34
Jimmy and David McCarley
Jimmy and David caught many fish on grubs in Shoals Creek. They long lined multiple rods with a double jig rig.

5th place 3.26
Pat Stegall
Pat trolled crainkbaits around teh mouth of Shoals creek and just past the bridge.

It was a hot day, but the fishing was relaly good early. Still can't believe some of the crappie we have caught this summer. Everyone get out and troll some crainkbaits if you haven't tried. I promise you might end up catching some of the biggest crappie you have ever caught. Ray Tuggle is a believer!!

We are taking a couple months off due to teh summer heat. See everyone September. Don't forget we have a VERY important club vs club tournament on Cedar in November. Put is on your calendar. I hear they have already been prefishing the past coule of weekends!!

We also hosted an open tournament the end of May. Jeff White won the tournament and Rex Davis ended up 2nd. Pat Stegall had big fish. Here are some pictures. CHeck out Jeff White without his beard? Just don't look right does he? I had to take a second glance to even recognize my ol buddy. The second picture is Rex Davis.
