Good question. I made a few trips last summer to try them and am always able to attract a big bait ball, but have only managed to catch 1 crappie. I only use jigs, and have tried varying my depths...

Green fish makes a good point about harvest rate. The last 2 years, I have seen many posts on this site of guys taking 4-5 people fishing and all keeping their limit, seemingly everytime they went....
