I use the double bunny in saltwater quite a bit. I use scud weights or lead eyes on the hook vs jig heads on most of mine to change the balance.

I like those a lot. I might even try to go lighter with the chenille. Newage Baitfish or White Pearl chenille would be other color options to try.

I had been doing some inshore double bunnies and thought I would tie a few for crappie. These have lots of action, a very slow drop and just as easy to tie as hackle. 1/16th, #4. Hope they catch....

I don't throw a lot of natural hair ties when smacks, blues or ladyfish are around. You can step down from crimped nylon to Super Hair all the way to Congo Hair and get better durability. Congo Hair...

I save the extra Vs that I cut from hackle when tying. I stacked a few and pinched them off with hemostats and coated them with epoxy. They make some pretty nice claws.

I get what you are looking for and it seems you have succeeded. I wouldn't hesitate to throw either but lean towards the flash as I fish mostly stained water. Would you want less flash in clear water?

I gave a DIY grizzly a try. I took a sharpie to a clump of saddle hackle, added grizzly lateral line feathers and tied up a saltwater streamer. It seems to hold the color well.
