Default Insight needed

I am going to Gulf Shores, AL on 8-8-08 and wanted to know if there are any surf fishing or inshore/inlet fishing opportunities to be had. I put a post up earlier about snorkeling and got limited responses, but this isn't a diving website, it's a fishing website. So, if anyone has any advice I would love it. I'm driving from Kansas City, so I would be able to take my own rods if needed. I have a little experience in this type of fishing as I lived near the Sebastian Inlet in FL for about 6 months and had decent success for snook flounder etc... at least not bad for a midwestern hayseed. Once again, thanks for any insight I may recieve.

I would give local bait shops a call and see if they can tell you where to go and what to fish for. I'm not familiar with the area at all or I'd try to help more. Good luck, and be sure to post pictures.
