Default Big Lake Report 4-20

Hey guys had fun this past Sunday. Went down to cameron. We started off fishing the old jetties had no luck. Went to long point no luck. We saw alot off boats heading to West Cove so we headed over there. We saw a bunch boats fishing out in middle so we got 200 yrds up wind and started driffing. Saw people catching ,they just had jigg no popping cork. I was using popping cork caught 1 trout, while other guys was jigging. I took off cork, and then we started catching also. Bait white gulp shrimp(in the bucket of green juice) $39.99 WOW. anyway a guy at academy said he caught his trout on that bait, so I would buy the store if I could catch a trout. We caught around 15 , 1 nice red ,1 flounder the rest trout. I know you saltwater"pros" dont think thats good, but for me, man it was fun.The tide stopped, and some dolphim showed up, I dont know but I think they scared off the fish. I have been fighting that lake for 2yrs and thats the most fish Ive caught.IM LEARNING! Maybe we would have caught more fish if we where not using popping cork, next time im going to start off jigging!

Heck that sounds like a good trip to me! My last trip we only managed 3 keepable fish! Thanks for the report.

I sent you a PM but forgot to mention about the crabs and shrimp. Crabbing is good NOW but if you want shrimp too, I think it will probably be late May or June before they start running good.
