Default Big lake 4-9-08

Well me and ftpolkkingfisher made a trip to the lake yesterday. I think I have seen less wind in a hurricane! We tried a couple of spots with artificals with no luck so we switched to just fishing shrimp on the bottom and managed to catch a few (mostly small trash fish). Picked up and went to a place that was not as windy (but still windy!) and caught a few more.

Here are the pictures. I included the one of the 3 crabs we caught b/c they were BIG crabs and my mom said they were GREAT!

We did manage to catch a Cajun grand slam between the 2 of us.

Congrats on the catch. I imagine the wind was rough on yall. But I bet it beats being offshore in the wind....lol... Thanks for the pics. And you are right, them crabs compared to the ice chest look huge.

Hey Johnny, I would rather the rough wind when I am off shore, I am not in a boat out there! lol Yea that is a 70 qt ice chest the crabs are next to.

Hey foul hook, yea that is blue crabs. The red fishing is only going to get better over here as it gets warmer but right now the winds are keeping me off the water.

way to fight the wind, i know the couple of times i've been out, it's been blowing a gale..... nice catching, and fer sure some nice looking crabs... i screwed up last time i was out, and dip netted a crab, thinking i would use him for bait if all else failed, well low and behold, just minutes after that, i'm hooked up with a nice 26"er, and can't get the darn crab out of my net....

anyway, nice catching.... i didn't even notice the had a saltwater board on here... cool....

Yeah we were getting beat by the wind, even at LNG. I still had a great time.
